God awaits us with open arms desiring to fill us with his very self. The Source of all good things. His ocean of merciful love can and will fill us so completely that we become little representations of that love for the entire world.
The catch? Everything. And nothing. Death to self. Death to ego. Death to attachments. Death to thinking any of these things is more than nothing at all when compared to God. Death to the illusion that these things are real when compared to God. In essence, we give up our false notion of everything to gain what is so much more than anything and everything we can ever imagine.
That is what Jesus shows us. How to live a life wholly and completely united with the Father, in the Father and for the Father. To show us that apart from God, our world devolves into an ugly, nasty, violent illusion which, given the chance will kill the beauty and truth of love itself. Every time.
To save us from the false, to which we are so susceptible he became “the way, the truth and the life.”(John 14:6) Turn away from deception. Turn away from being less than you were created to be. Turn away from fear and distraction. And turn to God.
Seek him with your whole heart. Because he longingly, faithfully and patiently awaits you with open arms.
